Perils for Pedestrians Episode 163

 Lincoln Avenue road diet
Lincoln Avenue in Urbana underwent a road diet. Instead of four lanes (two in each directions), Lincoln Avenue is now three lanes -- one in each direction and a two-way left turn lane. It is much easier for pedestrians to cross the street. And traffic even flows better without queuing behind left-turning cars and constant lane changes.

Topics in Episode 163:

  • We look at a road diet on Lincoln Avenue in Urbana, Illinois.

  • We learn about the bike plan for Urbana.

  • We talk with the secretary of Champaign County Bikes.
