Perils for Pedestrians Episode 90

Change in surface textures near the Metro subway platform edge.

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) has launched a new program to reach out to people with disabilities. They hope to enable more people with disabilities to use the fixed route transit system rather than paratransit services. A number of changes have been made to the Metro
system to make it more friendly to passengers with disabilities. Among them, a strip of "truncated domes" warns blind passengers that they are near the subway platform edge.
